"Journey into the land of Kara's allusions"
Kara began to draw from the instant that she was able to hold a crayon. Her desire to do so was born of the therapeutic outlet which her creations provided. These creations incorporate elements of her childhood in eastern Oregon, as well as provide an insight to her struggles and achievements. In 2003 Kara took her passions and talent and officially started Karallusions. Through her time of doing Karallusions she has been able to work on projects that have illustrated her unique style and that have helped her to home that style and further develop as an artist.
Kara's first painting was in 2010 when her parents Carlos and Toni (aka Sally) from the band Sally Tomato gave her the opportunity to do a mural outside of their house. This mural was to measure 13ft high by 26ft wide! Although Kara had never painted before she was able to make this creation happen.
Since then Kara has gone on to add her creations to many different surfaces such as statues, guitars, lampshades, and even the trunk lid of a classic VW Bug. Kara's highest profile project to date was in October 2016 when she was asked to do a mural for the Johnson Creek Fred Meyer. Kara's dream has always been to spread joy via her creations and colorful characters. Thanks for stopping by and enjoy your time in the land of Karallusions.
